So your session can run as smoothly as possible, I have compiled a prep guide to help us get the most out of your session!

COVID-19 update

Whilst I appreciate that most legal restrictions surrounding Covid-19 have now been lifted, I would really appreciate my Client’s continued support in following my guidelines during their appointments with me, in order to protect all of my customers (including newborn babies and vulnerable adults) as much as possible.

I will continue to wear a face mask throughout indoor appointments and will thoroughly wash my hands before and after sessions and use hand sanitiser when necessary. Whilst I understand that face coverings are no longer a legal requirement, I would appreciate if Client’s continue to wear a face covering or mask during indoor appointments with me (whilst not being photographed). I regularly have contact with newborn babies and vulnerable adults who have not yet been vaccinated (for example those who are pregnant or whom have recently given birth) and therefore I ask Clients to continue to wear face coverings for the time being, to help me keep all Client’s safe as far as possible during their appointments with me. The day before your session you will be asked to complete a Covid-19 declaration form which asks you to confirm that you and your household currently do not have symptoms and have not had symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 10 days and that you accept any possible risks of attending your session. I also affirm the same upon your completion of this document.

What do Christmas Mini Sessions include?

Christmas Mini Sessions last approximately 20 minutes in our studio and include images on our warm & cosy Christmas themed set. You can have photos of just the kids or hop in for some family photos too!  I’ve already got your preferences on family photos from when you booked, so I’ll know who’s in and who’s in and who’s out!

Upon booking you paid a £25 deposit to secure your session – this is deductable from my minimum package, the Tinsel package @£99. You will have received a link in an email to pay the balance of your package. This payment is due 1 week before your session, so please ensure you pay this, as only fully paid sessions will go ahead on the day.

These sessions are strictly limited to times, so PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME to allow us the necessary time for resetting and cleaning between sessions, but equally, please don’t arrive too early! 

What should we bring with us?

Please wear festive coloured clothing! – reds, greens, golds etc. (This doesn’t necessarily just mean Christmas jumpers!) We are going warm & cosy this year, so I recommend wearing deep, rich colours. Smart/casual clothing is recommended. Colour schemes that work really well are to choose two colours (for example reg & green) and go all out with that, or to go for one colour for the whole family (for example red). You might not usually like dressing matchy matchy as a family, but for photoshoots, this actually works really well! Christmas party dresses work really well and I also have a selection of dresses available in the studio for use, so I’ll show you some of those at the start if I think they’ll work for you.

Think head to toe! What I mean by this is…shoes! Try to consider your shoe choices, as something like white trainers could really spoil the overall look of your images. I quite often ask that kids take off their shoes for their photos, but for family photos we may keep shoes on (but be prepared to take them off just in case!).

Please avoid logos or mismatched colours/patterns, as these cause unnecessary distractions!

If you are travelling far you may prefer to change on arrival at the studio, to avoid spills or dribbles on children’s clothing.

I also recommend bringing a drink and a snack with you in case they’re needed for the kids. 

PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO ENSURE BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN HAVE HAD A GOOD NAP AND ARE WELL FED BEFORE THEIR SESSION! This is the single most important thing you can do to help your session run smoothly.

How should I prepare the kids?

Please ensure that all children arrive to the session fresh from a nap (if applicable) and well fed. Children should arrive in clean clothes (or with a change of clean clothes if you intend to change them on arrival). Please ensure that any chipped nail varnish and/or temporary tattoos have been removed prior to the session (including adults!).

My advice would be to say very little to your children about your planned session! By all means, mention you are going for a photo shoot and that it’s going to be fun, but please don’t worry about telling kids that they must listen and smile, as it’s often counter-productive. The best possible thing you can do is to ensure that young children have had a good nap before their session and that all kids have something to eat beforehand.

Can I bring my extended family or friends to the session?

Only immediate family (i.e. those participating in the session) should attend your Christmas Mini Session. Bookings are for individual family/sibling groups and a maximum of 3 children per session. Sessions are limited to one family group both due to limited space in the studio and it’s just best to avoid unnecessary distractions whilst we focus on capturing your images.

What if we’re late?

In short, it’s really important that you try to arrive on time, as we will be running on a schedule that we need to stick to in order to accommodate other booked sessions. If you are late, this time will be deducted from your session. Booking/package fees are non-refundable, so no refunds will be given for late arrival or no shows.

When will I see my images?

You will be emailed a link to view your gallery of images around 2 weeks after your session, this is when you will choose your images and pay for any upgrades to your package. You can also choose to add prints onto your order at this point too. Your chosen images will then be sent to you via a download link in an email within 2 weeks. Any print orders will be ready to collect from our studio within 2 to 3 weeks of placing your order (or before Christmas, whichever is sooner).

Where is your studio?

The address of my studio is; First Floor, 29 Station Road, Steeton, West Yorkshire, BD20 6RL and you will find me above Imagine Hair & Beauty salon. Please enter via the front door and go up the stairs to the first floor, where you will find the door to my studio on your right, with my sign next to it. If you arrive early to your appointment and the studio door is closed, please wait outside until I call you in at your appointment time, as I may still be with another Client.

Please be advised that as the studio is located on the first floor, I would recommend you bring babies and young children in via their car seat or by carrying them, rather than in a  pram, so it is easier for you. I will of course be on hand to help carry things up the stairs should you need assistance.

Where should I park?

There is no on site parking, however there are a number of streets nearby with on-street parking. My suggestion would be to try parking on East Parade (opposite the studio) or there is a small car park at the cross roads, adjacent to the Goat’s Head Pub and a small amount of parking on Mill Lane. Alternatively Steeton is on the bus route from Skipton/Keighley/Ilkley/Colne and surrounding areas and you can find bus stops either directly outside the studio or within a couple of minutes walk. Steeton & Silsden train station is also only a few minutes walk away.
