Maternity Photographer in Yorkshire

Maternity sessions usually last around two hours, allowing plenty of time to create a beautiful and varied collection of portraits in a relaxed and unhurried environment.

Most maternity sessions take place in my studio in Steeton, West Yorkshire, where I can carefully control the lighting and styling to create timeless, elegant images.

If you would prefer an outdoor maternity session, these can also be arranged at a suitable location within 15 miles of Steeton.

Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled between May and October, when the surrounding scenery is at its most beautiful and the light is ideal for creating soft, natural portraits.

Maternity Session Prep Guide

Yes, professional hair styling and make-up can be arranged for your maternity session at an additional cost.

The studio is located directly above Imagine Hair & Beauty Salon, making it very convenient to enjoy professional styling before your photography session.

If you would like to include these services, please let me know before booking your session so that I can coordinate the timing of your appointment alongside your photography session.

Hair styling appointments typically start from £20, and professional make-up from £50.

Your hair and make-up will take place at Imagine Hair & Beauty Salon, located beneath the studio, and appointments usually take 60–90 minutes depending on the style chosen.

Hair styling is provided by Rebekka, an experienced hairdresser and nail technician who comes highly recommended by both myself and many of my clients.

Professional make-up is provided by Naomi, an experienced make-up artist who has worked alongside me since the introduction of my Glow Sessions in 2021.

These services are arranged for your convenience but are booked and paid for independently of your photography session, with payment made directly to the providers on the day.

Please note that sessions including professional hair and make-up are usually scheduled Tuesday to Friday, depending on stylist availability.

Yes, partners and children are very welcome to join you for part of your maternity session. Many families choose to include a small number of couple or family portraits alongside the maternity photographs.

Family photographs are usually taken either at the beginning or towards the end of the session, depending on what works best for your family.

Because maternity sessions last around two hours, younger children often find it difficult to remain engaged for the full session. For this reason, many families choose to bring children along for the family photographs and then take them out for a short break afterwards, or alternatively have them join us for the final part of the session.

We can discuss the best approach for your family during your phone consultation, so that the session runs smoothly and remains relaxed for everyone involved.

I am sometimes able to offer limited after-school or weekday evening appointments, and a small number of Saturday sessions are available each month. Saturday appointments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and carry a £25 surcharge, payable at the time of booking.

At the end of your session we will arrange your Viewing & Ordering Appointment, which usually takes place around two to three weeks later.

During this appointment you will return to the studio to view your beautifully edited gallery of approximately 20–25 images from your session.

This is when you can relax, enjoy seeing your photographs for the first time, and choose your favourite images along with any wall art you would like to order.

To secure your session date, a £80 session fee is payable at the time of booking. This confirms your appointment in the studio diary.

The session fee covers your studio photography experience and does not include digital images, prints or products. Your images and collections are chosen separately at your Viewing & Ordering Appointment, which takes place approximately two weeks after your session.

Once your booking has been made, I will be in touch within 48 hours to arrange your phone consultation, where we will confirm the details of your session, discuss styling ideas and answer any questions you may have.
