How has it been almost a whole year already?! 🥹 I How has it been almost a whole year already?! 🥹 It was so lovely to see this little lady back in the studio again - almost one year on from her newborn session, this time celebrating her first birthday with a cake smash 🎂🥳 One of my favourite parts of this job is watching your little ones grow. From tiny newborns to big smiles, personality, and cake-covered faces… it really is so special to be trusted to capture these moments and to be a small part of their story 🩷
People often wonder what makes one photographer di People often wonder what makes one photographer different from another… and honestly, it’s not just the camera or style of photos 📸 For me, I think it’s the experience. After 22 years as a professional photographer, I’ve learnt that every family, every child, and every parent is different. Some children need time. Some parents need reassurance. Some babies settle instantly, others need a slower, gentler approach. A huge part of my job is learning to read people and adapt to them - rather than expecting everyone to fit into one “perfect” version of a photoshoot. Creating beautiful images matters, of course - but so does creating a calm space where parents can breathe, children don’t feel pressured, and nobody feels like they have to be anything other than themselves. Especially with newborns and families, patience matters. Flexibility matters. The ability to stay calm matters. The photographs are important. But how you feel during the experience matters too ❤️
