HOW IT WORKS
Your Newborn Session in my Steeton, Keighley, revolves around my specialist Newborn workflow which allows us to capture a beautifully varied gallery of images while keeping your little one safe and happy (and yes, expect plenty of naps!).
Over my career I have selected a range of the most stunning newborn wraps, backdrops and headbands to style your session: every colour, texture and details is planned and chosen to perfectly compliment all those tiny details that melt your heart.
At the end of your session we will book you in for your viewing and ordering appointment, where we reveal your gallery and help you choose the image collection that suits you best.

YOUR QUESTIONS
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK MY NEWBORN SESSION?
Newborn photography sessions are best suited to babies aged up to 3 weeks old. You can book a newborn session anytime from your 12 week scan and I’d recommend booking well in advance to ensure I have availability.
When you book your newborn session, I book your due date into my diary and then it’s just a case of getting in touch with me once baby is born, so we can schedule your session. Newborn sessions take place Monday to Friday and usually start at 11.30am.
CAN WE HAVE FAMILY & SIBLING IMAGES TAKEN?
Yes! I take family and/or sibling photos at the end of a newborn session. I recommend that siblings are brought to the studio by your partner, a family member or friend for the last 45 minutes of the session, to allow us to focus on creating the best photos of your baby in a quiet and calm environment during the first portion of the session.
hOW LONG IS A NEWBORN SESSION?
Newborn sessions last up to 4 hours in my cosy studio in Steeton, West Yorkshire. This allows plenty of time for your baby to have feeds and changes as required and for me to settle your baby for their images. My studio is warm & relaxing, with comfy chairs, allowing you to relax whilst I do the baby whispering!
During a Newborn session, I pose babies to create my signature style of imagery, which requires a great deal of skill and experience (and patience!). Safety is always my top priority and I have received in depth training on the safe posing and handling of newborn babies by some of the UK’s top newborn photographer’s and trainers.
when will we see our images?
You will be invited back to my studio to view your beautifully edited and enhanced gallery of around 25 images and place your order, approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the date of your session and this appointment will be booked with you at the end of the session.
what if my baby is older than 3 weeks?
Whilst Newborn photography sessions are best suited to babies aged up to 3 weeks old, don’t panic if your baby is already older!
Please contact me, as I regularly photograph babies in a newborn-style up to 6 weeks of age (although they might not be quite as sleepy and certain poses may not be suitable for older babies), or you can check out my Little Smiler Sessions, which are suitable for babies between 3 and 6 months of age.
