How to Prepare & What to Expect
To help your session run smoothly and get the best possible results, I’ve put together a handy prep guide with everything you need to know before the day.
Session Duration

What to Bring & Wear
Please bring 2–4 outfit options with you so we can choose what works best on the day, and arrive with your hair and makeup done (if you choose to wear it), so you’re ready to begin. Simple, plain clothing usually photographs best – avoid busy patterns, logos, and trainers. Choose colours that complement your skin tone and reflect your personality, whether that’s calm and neutral or bright and bold.
Think about the message you want to convey to your audience through your images – whether that’s professional and polished, friendly and approachable, or creative and relaxed – and bring outfits that support that look. The right clothing can really help communicate who you are and what you do!

What to Expect
At the start of your session, we’ll have a quick chat about your outfit options and select the best backdrop colour. I’ll guide you through a variety of relaxed, flattering poses – no need to worry if you’re not used to being in front of the camera. My goal is to help you feel confident and at ease so we can capture natural, professional headshots that feel like you.
Image Viewing & Selection
Once your session is complete, I’ll do a quick review and carefully select the best overall images – removing any blinks, closed eyes, duplicates, or test shots. You’ll then view your proof gallery of around 10 to 25 images (depending on the package you’ve chosen) in the studio’s viewing room.
This is your time to relax, view your images, and select your favourites. If you’d like to purchase any additional images beyond those included in your package, you’re welcome to do so during this viewing. Payment for any extras is due at the time of ordering.
Once your selection is finalised, your chosen images will be professionally retouched and delivered via a digital download link within 1 to 2 weeks. If you have a particular deadline you’re working towards, just let us know when you book and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Additional Images & Upgrades
Each package includes a set number of fully edited, high-resolution digital images – delivered in both colour and black & white. The exact number will depend on the package you’ve booked.
If you’d like to purchase additional images beyond those included, they’re available at £40 each. You’re also welcome to upgrade your package to include more digital files or printed products – just let me know if you’d like more details or guidance.
Attendance & Illness
Where possible, please attend your session alone so we can keep the space calm and focused. If you’re bringing someone along for support, just let me know. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’re feeling unwell – especially with anything contagious – please do reschedule. I ask that clients be symptom-free for at least 48 hours before attending the studio.
Rescheduling Policy
Life happens! You’re welcome to reschedule once within 14 days of your session due to illness or emergencies (subject to availability). If you’re more than 20 minutes late or miss your session entirely, a £50 rescheduling fee will apply.

Where to Find the Studio
My studio is located on the first floor at 29 Station Road, Steeton, West Yorkshire, BD20 6RL – just above Imagine Hair & Beauty Salon.
Please enter through the front door and head straight up the stairs. You’ll find the studio on your right at the top.
There’s no on-site parking, but I’ll send you details of nearby on-street parking options before your session so you know exactly where to go.
