GLOW PHOTOSHOOT GUIDE

HOW TO PREPARE AND WHAT TO EXPECT

So your session can run as smoothly as possible, I have compiled a prep guide to help us get the most out of your session!

COVID-19 update

Whilst I appreciate that most legal restrictions surrounding Covid-19 have now been lifted, I would really appreciate my Client’s continued support in following my guidelines during their appointments with me, in order to protect all of my customers (including newborn babies and vulnerable adults) as much as possible.

I will continue to wear a face mask throughout indoor appointments and will thoroughly wash my hands before and after sessions and use hand sanitiser when necessary. Face masks/coverings are once again mandatory in shops (this is the category under which my premises falls), so I would appreciate if Client’s continue to wear a face covering or mask during indoor appointments with me (whilst not being photographed). I regularly have contact with newborn babies and vulnerable adults and therefore I ask Clients to continue to wear face coverings, to help me keep all Client’s safe as far as possible during their appointments with me. I appreciate your co-operation.

You can find out more information on the Covid-19 procedures we have put in place here.

The day before your session you will be asked to complete a Covid-19 declaration form which asks you to confirm that you and your household currently do not have symptoms and have not had symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 10 days (or have taken the appropriate tests to confirm a negative result) and that you accept any possible risks of attending your session. I also affirm the same upon your completion of this document.

How do I prepare for my Glow session?

Please arrive to your appointment with clean, dry hair and with no make up on. Ensuring any areas that you wish to be hair free are smooth and applying moisturiser before your session is recommended. I’d also recommend not applying self-tan beforehand (or at least being very careful to not overdo it around the hand and foot area!) and if we get any sunny days, please try to avoid tan lines.

What should I bring to the session?

Please bring the following items with you to your session wherever possible;

  • A strapless bra (preferably nude colour)
  • A nude colour thong
  • Black underwear (bra and pants)

The items of clothing above help to create beautiful images without the distraction of visible underwear. I have a bathroom within the studio, which can be used as a dressing room. If you don’t have any of these items, don’t worry, we can work around it.

Feel free to also bring some of your own clothing options with you – we may or may not use these depending on what you bring, but the type of clothing that could work well are any of the following; dresses (long & flowing or fitted), blazers, an oversized shirt, hats, accessories (scarves, big earrings, jewellery etc), a pair of heels. Think out of the box when selecting the items you would like to bring – we want bold and plain clothing – please avoid patterns. There’s no need to buy anything if you don’t feel you have anything suitable though.

You may also want to bring a drink and a snack, just in case you need an energy boost!

Upon Arrival

Please go straight into Imagine Hair & Beauty salon (below my studio) at your appointment time and either myself, Naomi (the make up artist) or Rebekka (the hairdresser) will meet you there. If I’m not there immediately upon arrival, I will pop down once you have arrived to discuss the final plan for your hair & make up styling.

Please try to arrive on time to your appointment as we will be running on a schedule! If you are running late, please message me on 07956114916.

It is advised that you leave coats/large bags in your car until you have finished your hair & make up appointments, you can then bring these into my studio afterwards. Face coverings are to be worn in the salon (you will obviously be asked to remove this when you have your make up done). There is no requirement to put on a face covering between leaving the salon and arriving at my studio, as you won’t be wearing a face covering once in my studio anyway.

How long does a Glow Session last?

Your Glow photoshoot itself will last around 1 to 2 hours. Your hair & make-up appointments will take place in Imagine Hair & Beauty Salon downstairs and usually take around 60 to 90 minutes altogether, depending on the style you have opted for. You can expect to be with us for around 3 hours in total.

How will I pose?

Whilst some people may feel confident in front of the camera, other’s (most!) are happy to be guided by me.

I won’t expect you to ‘know’ how to pose! I will help to position your hands in the correct places, rearrange your clothing as appropriate and tell you where to look – unless you’re a natural of course!

The specific types of poses I recommend will depend on me working with you as an individual, to get the best range of images. I aim for a varied gallery and the poses & clothing used will reflect this.

Will I have to take my clothes off?…eeek!

It’s totally up to you! These sessions are all about boosting your confidence and capturing a gorgeous range of images of you, so we’ll go at your pace and I’ll be guided by your comfort level. I have a good eye for knowing ‘what will work’ so all I ask is for you to trust me, even if the pose or clothing may seem a bit ‘out there’, I’m pertty sure you’ll love the results!

Can I bring other family or friends to the session?

Only those participating in the session should attend the appointment, as having other’s there causes unnecessary distractions for those being photographed.

When will I see my photographs?

At the end of your session we will arrange your viewing & ordering appointment to take place in approximately 2-3 weeks time and this is when you will get to see your beautifully edited photographs, choose your favourites and place your order. Payment for an order is due at your viewing appointment. I always advise that all decision makers are present at the viewing and ordering appointment as you may find you need help choosing your portraits! Viewing appointments are currently taking place in my studio as usual, at 1m+ social distancing with the use of face coverings in addition.

When will I get my order?

Once you have placed your order, you can expect your purchased images and prints to be ready for collection in approximately 3 weeks time. If you have ordered wall art or an album then these will be ready in around 4-6 weeks time.

Where is your studio?

You can find me at; First Floor, 29 Station Road, Steeton, West Yorkshire, BD20 6RL (above Imagine Hair & Beauty Salon).

Please enter via the front door and head up the stairs, where you will find my studio on your right. There is no on-site parking at the studio, but I will advise you of close-by on-street parking options before your session. Please try to arrive on time, but if you are running late, please message me on; 07956114916.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all and as always, if you have any questions, please just ask!
